The Daintree Tea Company is Australia's most northern tea plantation, situated in the heart of the Daintree Wilderness and Rainforest area in Far North Queensland. High rainfall evenly spread throughout the year and a temperature range of 25° to 35° Celsius, along with granite alluvial red soils, all combine to make an ideal growing environment for a unique tasting tea.

The Cubbagudta Plantation was established in 1978, by the Nicholas family, who still own and operate the business. Their home overlooks the processing plant, down to the tea hedges used to produce the green leaf which is processed and packaged on the property.

Harvesting of the tea occurs at approximately two weekly intervals. Once plucked, the young leaf is transported to the processing factory where it is firstly withered, then crushed, oxidised, dried, sorted and packaged. It only takes 24 hours from the time the leaf is first picked, to the time it is packaged.
